Currently I am behind in the tilling of the plot #4 (the one you seen me tilling in the video) however, since that video I have fixed the tiller and it is now working like a charm. I have decided to grow grains this year also so that we can have oats (for cereal and rabbit and chicken ration) and wheat (to grind into flour). So I have renamed the plots to 1 through 4 with plot 3 being my original small garden. I am in the middle of drawing up a scale drawing of the property so when that is finished I will show it to ya'll.
I am trying to plan every stage so that when I have small amounts of time available (because I work 35 miles from home and dont have lots of time at night after work before its dark), I can go full throttle at one thing and clear it off my plate.
We have just traded in our 99 Chevy S10 for a 03 Ford focus. Now I got to come up with just enough money to get an old truck...cause I cant do much farming without a way to haul stuff. Now while I typically do not like Fords, I do like the gas mileage this one gets and it was the only vehicle in our price range. We left the parking lot NOT OWING A THING!
This is the new focus of my life. "Owe no man anything" Now while I cant do that over night...I can certainly work towards it as best as I can. People dont know it but when you are in debt you have NO say about your life. You are bound by your Job, your freedom is lost and once your are in the "System", you are lucky if you can ever swim your way out of that rapid river.
I have been very political here lately, only because I believe, as did the ancestors before me (not mine) that I do not want the government taking care of me...when you do that, you will loose your freedom. People fought to be independent of government during the revolution and the set up a document, the constitution, to protect people from the government. But people being fearful, just as the Israelites did when they wanted a King, gravitate to worry about security rather than freedom. Its freedom first, then security, because freedom will produce security but security will produce bondage.
"I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them."
- Thomas Jefferson
To me this statement says it all.
I will be posting some video soon for the 3rd Episode of MyerstownTV and it will have me building a door and then creating some hand forged hardware (door handle and latch). So stay tuned.

Hey Jeremy!
Glad to hear from you and read your latest post.
I've not been very outspoken with my polictical convictions in the past, but admire you for sticking to your constitution. I recently thought about you, while renting a movie at Blockbuster. If you've not watched Michael Moore's "Sicko", you should. This movie should be mandatory viewing for every single American. This movie details the shape our government has let the health care system get in. I should know, being a pharmacist. I deal with this kind of stuff on a daily basis. It's delivered in Michael's true comedian style, and very very informative. It talks about how governments in Europe and other countries are quote "scared of the people", and yet in the US quote "the people are scared of the government". Several people discuss how a government like ours enjoys letting the people be uneducated, impoverished and in debt. People in this shape cann't "afford" to protest or take action for change, and allow the government to rule without any accountability. Did you know that in Canada, England, France, and Cuba EVERY SINGLE CITIZEN gets equal healthcare, regardless of income or health status? It's a right of every citizen of those countries. Michael even takes some US citizens to Cuba for treatment in their hosptials, and they receive excellent care.
For sure it's some good viewing. Keep on postin' my friend.
Later
Steve
