Here is the reason I am so adamant about becoming self sufficient. This is why I feel if we dont have an infrastructure set in place we could soon be on the loosing end of a depression.

RON PAUL Meetup 29 Springfield MO
Well most of you know I am gungho about Ron Paul and feel he's the only candidate on the stage who could bring this country out of its rut. Well there's more, I am also active, or I try to be, in the grassroots effort for the campaign. I am part of a meetup group who goes out and talks to people about Ron Paul and let them know what the media doesnt want them to know about.
Here in Springfield there are a good number of people who have never heard of Ron Paul. In fact yesterday someone mentioned to me that they thought he was made up (because they seen my signs in my office at work). A long conversation ensued covering everything from St. Huck (she was a Huckabee fan too...as are a lot of people who only listen to the jargon the media gives them) to the economy. I had to explain to the ex banker how the intrest rate is directly related to the number of dollars printed and how that was related to the value of the dollar. Regardless I did not convince her because she is a self willed person who thinks she conquered the world and no one, especially no man, will tell her any different.
Anywho, I created another blog to help our meetup group 29 to raise some funds in order to get the word out here because most of us are tapped out and we are having trouble affording the local advertisements. So anyone who is able and interested in spreading liberty I invite you to donate what ever you can, $5, $10, $100 anything to help. You can see the blog below or you can select the chip in feature below and to the right of the page. Thanks to www.ronpaulforpresident2008.com for providing a great one-stop shop for learning about Ron Paul and getting the most up to date information on the campaign and other news.
Here is some video of some of the members standing out in the cold to get the word out.

Two Voices
I'm not really sure who reads these posts but I would like to establish a point, I hear Voices. Now this is where I will loose some of y'all but hang with me for a minute and you will see my point.
How many of you have wanted something so bad and you want to do something to make what you want a reality and yet you think, "Its not going to do you any good to try, you dont have a chance"? Then how many of you mope around for a while and realize this is important to you and you think to yourself "why am I thinking like this, thats a defeatist viewpoint" then you go and work to achieve whatever it is you wanted?
If you said yes to both of these then congrats you hear Voices too. Its a battle that I fight very strongly every day and almost every minute. My desire to do more goes against my feelings of pointlessness and sometimes, apathy and tiredness.
In the movie, Kingdom of Heaven, there is a part where the blacksmith reads to someone who is with him what is carved into the wooden beam above the smithy. The carving said:
"What Man, is a Man, who doesnt make the world a better place". This statement has resonated with me and sirred up thoughts.
Then I read a quote which I am not sure where it came from but it was used by a fellow Meetup Member for the Ron Paul campaign it said:
"I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do the something that I can do. What I can do, I should do. And what I should do, by the grace of God, I will do."
Now to the point of this post. Last time I posted some responses to the developing events of the Ron Paul campaign and I was in a state where the voice I was listening to was the voice that says: "forget all about it, you cant make any difference because they will just steal the votes from your hard earned work". I was consumed by the defeatist mentality and a loss of hope. But something changed from the beginning of the day when I posted that to the evening when I left work.
What changed was a rekindled desire to be free. Not just physically, but mentally also. Who am I putting my hope in? Who am I being dependent on? Those questions where passing through me at mock 10. My desires to have a farm called "Myerstown Family Farm" was envisioned to bring us to a point where we were not dependent on someone else raising our food and in so doing we would not be dependent on a Job to work at to make money to pay for food and other things. Though we have yet to attain that goal, we know that we can and will if we stay persistent. But even that has a dependency on something, or someone.
The problem with my previous post, although it has some valid arguments, its driven by fear. That fear is driven by miss placed hope.
Everyone is dependent on someone whether it is yourself, someone else, or God. The problem is when you are dependent on yourself or someone else, you place you hope in that entity. Its the Voice: "I hope that this person will make you free in this nation because you cant figure out how to be free any other way". Then when there are let downs, because we're "human", your hopes are dashed and you have to pick yourself back up again. If you put your hope in yourself, in other words, your Voice says: "I dont care what happens I am going to fortify my defenses and make do and survive on my own" then you open up yourself the the dependency on yourself and others. And we all know how "human" we are and that no one is perfect. Therefore you set yourself up for failure right from the start.
My hope has been found to be miss placed over the past few weeks. It is not a president who can free me. Sure, he can free my physical body and make taxes less burdensome and such, but if I still have my mind in the prison that it is in right now, I will never be free.
I have since chosen to place my dependency on God my savior, through Jesus Christ, as I have in times past but forgotten recently. Because God is always the same, never changing, he is predictable, and can actually make things happen with a word, I choose to be dependent on Him to see me through. This is a Voice that says: "Trust the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths". This gives me freedom in my heart and mind, therefore no matter what my external environment, I am free anyway.
Even if Ron Paul looses, we know who wins in the end. Continue to be persistent, continue to work hard for Ron Paul because its a good cause and a noble one, but remember who your placing your hope in and remember that with God all things are possible.

hmmmmmmm!!!????
As I set here and write this I am pondering my future. I have never felt worried about my life until now. I fear that I will be forced to fight a war that is not mine to fight and that I will die for a cause non other than to fill the pockets of those funding the war. I look at the stats from politico.com showing the votes the various candidates have in New Hampshire and it shows Ron Paul loosing big time! I don't know if this is a trial run or the real thing but it still makes me think how can a state, who's motto is "live free or die" vote for anyone other than Ron Paul!
I dont believe it! It Cant Be! I would venture to say that this is an easy example of Voter Fraud. But I am sure someone would say, "ah Jeremy, you're just being one of those conspiracy theorists".
Do we want this war to go on for ever, or as John McCain said, at least 100 years!!!!!!
Mean while, HR 383 the "Universal Service Act of 2007" which is "to require all persons in the United States between the ages of 18 and 42 to perform national service, either as a member of the uniformed services or in civilian service in furtherance of the national defense and homeland security, to authorize the induction of persons in the uniformed services during wartime to meet end-strength requirements of the uniformed services, to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to make permanent the favorable treatment afforded combat pay under the earned income tax credit, and for other purposes". In short this is a back door Draft Bill!
Another attempt to chip away our Liberty and Freedom. I dont want this war, many others dont want it, what happened to the democratic process where we the people decide whether we go to war (through our congressmen) or not? Instead we have Congress (with exception of Ron Paul and a couple others) going against the Constitution and giving their power to the president whereby he wages war in Iraq without the consent of the people. Then the president makes it seem that this war is because of 911. Thats bull! The "Iraq Liberation Act" already mandated that Sadaam be removed! Congress never declared war, they acted without the consent of the people by giving their power to bush to wage war un constitutionally!
I may be jumping the guns a bit, but the seed of cynicism has been planted and I dont know how we can hope to have a country that gives Freedom when we chip away the document of freedom known as the Constitution. For those of you who haven't read it before, or its been a long time here is a link to it.
Also, we cant have a free society if our method of voting is rigged so that the people have no vote.

There have already been people who have proven that the Computer voting terminals are hackable. Whether its easy or not, its possible and should not be allowed.
Now I wish I never signed the selective services thing that I did way back when I wanted to go to college. This all it takes to strip a husband from his wife and a father from his children and it would never get better. This "war on terrorism" is a fictitious war that can only go on for ever. Its because terrorists have been around since time began and will always be around. What makes it worse is that we are agrivating it by having more than 3/4ths of our millitary over in other countries rather than here. Who's going to protect our borders?! NO ONE! Thats why we have illegals streaming in daily and why our economy is dying (or at least one reason).
I do worry about my life. I worry I will have to become an example for the rest of the country. I will not go fight for something I do not believe in and I will use Civil Disobedience to do that. Does that make me unpatriotic!? NO! That is what MAKES me a patriot! A patriot is someone who loves his country and wants to protect her. The only way I can protect her is by not being involved the the trash that people are doing right now.
If any other candidate other than Ron Paul wins the Presidency we will have serious repercussions because 1. our monetary system will fail and we will have another Great Depression (if China doesn't come over here to take back what we owe them by force) 2. We will have countries begin to attack us for being on their turf 3. a world war will happen and 4. We all will be drafted from 18 to 42.
You can run but you cant hid from big brother. Educate yourself or loose your Freedom!

Gold Rush
Hey everyone I just thought I would post my recent video of some a fiddle tune I am learning called Gold Rush.
Here is a friend of mine, David Scrivner from Mansfield Missouri, and he is playing Bill Cheatum at McClurg MO on new years night. We had a great time and played music until 12am. Most music I had played ever in one setting. The video is bit messed up because I rushed to record then realized while I was recording that the settings were off so at one point I had to cut out part of it because there was too much popping and fuzzy noises from it.
